Just wandering if anyone else is having trouble keeping their worms, with the weather being so cold? I was keeping them inside and have lost 2 loads through the winter. I have spoken to the place I get them from and have been given advice. So how do you keep yours, inside, inside etc?

I keep mine in a rubbermaid bin with moist, shred newspaper and about two cups of this worm soil I got from Walmart. The bin is kept in my room, which is quite cool seeing as how it has almost no insulation, and I haven't had any problems.

Maybe it's something in your soil/substrate? Too much food? Too wet? Not enough airholes for the amount of worms?

Do you move your substrate around often? If you leave it still too long, it tends to get stagnant and the worms can't "breathe."

What kind of worms are they? Compost worm, such as red wigglers?

I will move this thread to the worm area of the forum.
