Hello just wondering if anyone's got any advice for us.
We've had our leucistic axolotl for about 2 months now, she is approx 6" long. Her staple diet is bloodworms with the odd prawn or few catfish pellets for variety, we're weaning her off being fed every single day so now she gets one or two "spa days" a week where we don't feed her or put her tank light on at all. Not sure how long exactly but she's definatly not pooped in the past week and usually she has no troubles with digestion at all - her tummy just gets a teeny bit rounder and as she's so pale you can sometimes see her tum get a little darker, she usually poops every 2 or 3 days. Now her tum is rounder and slightly darker for a few days but no pooh! Her back end's not floating, she's eating and acting completly normally. Should we be worried?

p.s. She's on sand and there's nothing in the tank she could swallow that could cause impaction.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
