My axolotl is about 5 inches long (got him when he was a baby) and stopped eating three weeks ago. Right before he stopped eating, I added water to his tank, but I did dechlorinate it. He would attempt to eat the food, but seemed very weak. No white fungus on gills or anything, so this rules out fungus. He slowly stopped being active, and eventually would just stop moving. I transferred him to a container and put him in the fridge, and he wiggled a little when he was out of water. Two days later, he's completely not moving. He looks like:
-gills shriveled and curled forward
-blackened fingertips
-mouth open
-completely not moving
Is he dead? I don't want him to just be sick and then bury him alive. Someone help!
And I know you will ask but I do not know water parameters sorry.
