Hello,
so i just found an egg sack in my chinese firebelly newt tank, and from doing some research online i found that it was from my black mystery apple snails, which i have 2. I have never seen this before or have ever had the chance to experience this and i am soo excited!
but i am not sure what to do with them or how to care for the baby snailies... so i have come to you for help. hoping that some of you have gone through this and if you can give me any advice.
I have read that if you want to take them out of the tank, to carefully remove the egg sack and transfer them to a nursery. place the egg sack on a styrofoam peice and let it float in a few inches of water, in a sealed container with air holes, like a small deli cup. change the water daily and mist the egg sack daily. keeping the humidity high.
do you recomend this?
questions
1. should i remove the parents from the tank aswell, do they need to be with the babies?
2. if i leave the egg sack in my tank and allow them to hatch where they are, would my newt eat them?
3. how often would the parents mate a year?
