Lavender tinge to juvie

2 of the babies I bred. Believe they would be classified as wild types but the darker one has a lavender tinge to it.

Absolutely beautiful! I would be amazed of that wasn't a lavender. So very purple. Does it stay the same color even in different lighting? I have a copper axolotl that looks very purple like that but only in certain lighting. The rest of the time he looks like a normal copper. :)

Yes that is the colour they always stayed under any lighting. The picture was taken under natural sun slight coming into the room but plan I putting a light on the tank. I had several babies this colour

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
