Hi.

Do you think axolotls can eat sinking trout pellets?

Thanks
Danni

I don't have one but what i have been reading about them i would say yes:> It is the same almost as the hikari pellets in protein and fat ect so. My guess is yes..

Just a caution- pellets formulated for pond use often seem "greasy", releasing more muck into the water than a comparable aquarium pellet would.

Ok, thanks for that warning! The muck should be ok, at least my filter seems to be doing a good job at the moment. I am about to buy some trout pellets now...

There is a lot of information about pellets this forum, just make a search. It´s one of those things that comes up very frequently.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
