Confused as to which species

I got a new amphiuma. Ordered as baby two toed and it has all the typical characteristics of one; large head, two-toned coloration, and all that. The thing that confuses me is that while it looks like a two toed (which is what I wanted), it has two toes on each hind leg but appears to only have one toe on each front legs. It's very small so it's possible that I'm just not seeing the second toe. It also doesn't look like a pholeter as their head shape/size is usually an easy giveaway when compared to the other two species. I've got it in a temporary set up until I'm sure of what it is.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
