Hey everyone. My beloved axie recently came down with (I assume) a fungal infection on one of her gills. I gave her a salt bath and was able to remove some "cotton" from the gill, and the infection doesn't seem to be spreading.
My questions are about the affected gill. The area of the infection has turned very pale and all of the filaments in the area have broken off completely (the area below the fungus still looks healthy. Will the filaments grow back? Will this gill stalk always be damaged? How do I know when the fungus is gone? There's no more "fluff" but the gill is so pale I'm afraid it's still infected. Should I salt bath her again?
I've attached a picture (it's not great, but the best I could get without a flash. I can take a better one if it'll help). You can see the pale tip of her first right gill stalk. Any help would be greatly appreciated! This is my first time dealing with fungus and I'm very concerned
