It was a tough ride from New York to Pennsylvania, but Ordis seems to be very happy with his arrangement. Of course, when he got here, he was pretty scared (didn't want to move much)

He warmed up to his new environment pretty soon, and got very adventurous!

But feeding him, on the other hand... It's right below you, ordis!!!

I also couldn't resist taking a video of him coming up for air.

Ordis seems very happy and has also discovered my motion-activated camera (no flash, in case you were wondering)

If you're thinking the tank is a little barren, you'd be right. Decorations are coming soon

The second picture is adorable... he looks so lost 😖

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
