In a nutshell I am located in Virginia part of the Midatlantic region of the US. I am currently working with an education center near the mountains and keeping a classroom of native critters for observation. As an educator I am looking forward to learning and sharing my knowledge.

In March I collected an egg mass of Ambystoma Maculatum or Yellow spotted Salamanders.
Currently we have 3 in the larval state and two that have emerged and are in a terrarium tank. I also accidentally collected a tadpole along the way which has emerged as a Pseudacris crucifer or Spring Peeper.

    with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
