i was wondering if i've heard all the good things about maggots then why are there almost no theads about breeding them? oh, well i've got my own way to do it and here it is!

step1 mix a spoonful of quickgrits with two or three spoonfuls of quickoats in a jar
step2 add milk till it is wet and drain all extra milk
step3 add a cotten ball soak in water
step4 add adult flies
step5 wait

Interesting. I haven't heard this method before. Have you actually tried this? Any problems with mold?

i'm doing it at the moment, and i have to say blue bottle flies are doing the best and i think reason it doesn't mold is because bacteria get to it first because of the milk (and lactic acid helps too i think), also i based it off of something in a biology book.

Nice work, I,m try it to. What container should I use.

Ps. Nice Quote!:D

a simple jar will work, and the cotton ball i've found collects the maggots, so you use that to harvest them, then you replace it with one soaked in milk

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
