I am going to guess a type of Easter Tiger Salamander. The green coloring is nice. Looks a bit skinny though. Wax worms are great to fatten up then earthworms as a staple. Good luck!

Damn... She was advertised as a barred, which was what I wanted since some literature says they handle higher temperatures better.

My new juvenile tiger salamander is always hungry. She comes running out of her burrow she dug when she knows I'm home.

Last week I fed her everyday since she was a bit anorexic. She ate about 10 wax worms, 1 red worm and 1 night crawlers. I didn't feed her Sunday and decided to feed her Monday.

She ate 1 night crawler and then started begging for more food. I was trying to wipe the side of her glass and she even ran out again to greet me for more food. I gave her one wax worm.

She has quite an appetite now. Should I continue to only feed her every other day? Or should I do every 3 days? Also, what does her poop look like? I haven't seen any of her droppings.

Not sure... we can assume she was aquatic for at least 6-7 months of her life. She does look like a fairly recent morph but not too recent as there are no gill stubs.

I will say this though, her coloration is very beautiful and vivid. Also it is pretty cool that she favors the water. Although terrestrial they some specimens do have a preference to shallow pools from time to time.

Thanks, I can't wait for how she looks when she's big and chubby.

She actually runs to me to the corner and ends up in her water fish. She just started burrowing. I can't find her right now. I'm hoping she's okay. I do t think they can suffocate can they?

I didn't realize how malnourished she was when she first came until I compared her photo from when I got her to a photo I took today.

It made me really sad. The seller must have not taken good care of their stock Tiger Salamanders.
