I have had my axolotl for around a month and a half and have had no problems
What so ever, although my axie has his gills slightly forward. I'm not sure how far forward there gills are supposed to be so I'm not really sure if he's stressed or if I just worry to much.
The temp is 20 degrees Celsius, the ammonia is 0 and the PH is 7.0

If they are only slightly curled forward it is most likely normal. Usually if stressed the gills will be curled quite far forward over their head. Their tails will often curl as well if stressed.
