I'm ThatFwippyGirl, Wisconsin native living in Virginia! I've been caring for all sorts of critters since I was old enough to walk. :) I recently inherited a 20 gallon long from a coworker and am looking forward to setting it up for an axie! Currently running:30 gallon saltwater tank
5 gallon freshwater for a betta
10 gallon freshwater fully planted female betta tank
30 gallon freshwater angelfish tank
20 gallon long axolotl tank (under construction)
5 gallon freshwater for aquascaping (under construction)

As well as caring for a cute doggie and various plants, etc.

Currently, I work at a pet store as well as an art gallery (as an apprentice framer). I'm also working on a tumblr blog aimed at providing instruction for care of various animals including product reviews, spotlights on various exotic animal rescues, and tutorials for various aquarium/terrarium set-up! I'm really excited to meet you all (and hopefully learn lots of new things)!!!

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
