My name is Catie. Nice to meet you all!

I've actually had an account here for almost a year but have never posted. I started the account when I became interested in Axolotls and have been using it to peruse the forum when I had questions that needed answered.

My axolotl, Wooper, was leucistic and passed away a few days ago. I may be biased but he was the cutest thing and I miss him terribly. I have been looking for a breeder that is selling a juvenile melanoid as I can't stand coming home to an empty tank.

Other than that, I'm a freelance sound designer currently pursuing my Bachelor's in audio, language (I'm learning Swedish and Spanish) and programming.

Thank you!

Sorry to read about your loss of little Wooper, Catie.

If you look towards the bottom of the page, you'll see a 'For Sale' section. Hopefully you'll find your little melanoid there.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
