I have had my axie for 5 yrs, he is a leucistic. I would like to add a couple of different colored females. What size new axies are safe to add with him, or do I need to put them in a separate tank until they get about his size? Not sure what to do. He is a pretty good size guy from head to tip of the tail.

Would love some Input from those experienced. I have been out of pocket for about 5 yrs so I need to do my studies again.

Thank you in advance for your time and consideration!

How big is he now and what is the size of the tank he's in? Generally for adults they should be within an inch or two of each other.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
