I like sharing my moments with others! T. Granulosa is my favorite North American species of newt. These guys allways go into a feeding frenzy for me. Its normal for me to even see them eating their own sheds. This species in particular shed alot! Almost at any given time I can find shedded skin in their tank. Here are some pictures of my toxic little friends.

Hey,

I love those T.grans! Great pics!
How many do you have, will you be trying to breed them next season?

I love these as well.

Jaymes, you should photoshop in some thought bubbles for those 2 pictures of them 'wrestling'.

Justin I got lucky and captured the male trying to amplex the female. He's very aggressive! Hopefully come this spring I'll have a batch of eggs.

Hi Axologic,

I found my two Taricha granulosa in amplexus last week, for the first time..:D
These are from Ukiah and their bellys are orange instead of the usual yellow.

Here of some pics of, hopefully, a new breedingpair. :)

Nice orange looking belly. All mine have bright yellow stomachs. Justin are you going to try to breed yours this coming season? If you have any nice techniques please do inform me.

I have bred the yellowbellied ones the last two years.
My breedingpair died, sadly!
I do allso love the yellowbellied ones very much!
I do still have some cb08 and 09 so they will form a new breedinggroup hopefully!:D

By the way, my grans start amplexus in sept when watertemps get arround 16 or 15 celcius, temps drop during oct, nov dec, in end jan begin febr i start to do water changes more and get the waterhight from about 15 cm to 30....

When in febr the water temp goes to about 16 degrees again i get eggs, most of the time after waterchanges. These guys are true egg eaters, so make sure you get the eggs out of the tank.

Good luck,...keep us posted on your breedings attemps.
By the way, are those wc or cb, would you know their age? Audrey's offspring?
