Well here's a nice little fellow peeking around . I'm surprised by all those white dots he has and the quite brilliant yellow. The dots on his head are more orange...

Are orange dots caused by diet or just a genetic related thing? I know in fire salamanders it is just a genetic flux. I was just wondering because where I live we often find them both ways.

Its very interesting. All of the spotteds that I found on land have had orange spotting, and all the ones I see in the vernal pools only have yellow.
