Hello John
this is the same mother and you have a larval times last year and this year the boys have fully developed?

greetings, Michael

Sorry [sala], Michael, but I dont know what youre trying to say? Hay Salamichael might make a good user name. Maybe?

John, I think he's trying to ask if this same female has given you both larvae and fully developed young in separate years.

In every spawn there has been a wide variety from fully transformed youngsters to early stage larva. see my earlier posts [born mostly egg and bernardezi babies] in the fire salamander section of this website.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
