Hi,
I'm a new axi keeper. I've had my 2 for about 6 weeks now and every thing has been going well until the last 2 days. They won't eat. I've tried bloodworms, night crawlers and raw chicken. Water parameters are fine. Plenty of poop and no signs of stress. They're juvies... why won't they eat ?

Sub note.
Although they have a fan, I've been putting iced bottles in their tank to keep temp down because it's so hot atm. Could this be the reason?

I am just as new to taking care of Axis as you are. Just wondering if you have tested their water to see what kind of Ammonia, and Nitrite levels you have in the tank.

How often are you feeding your Axis? Once a day or every 2-3 days?

Do you hand feed them or do you feed them with tweezers?

What is the temperature in the tank?

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
