I'm here on my fiance's account. His birthday is coming up and not sure what to get him. One idea I think may work really well is something for his axolotls or even a fourth axolotl. If anyone would want to give me advice on what to get him that would be great. Thanks

A fourth axolotl would be cool. I'm assuming his are already full grown? If you know the size of the tank that would help because you don't want to surprise him with an over crowded tank.

Well his has a room full of tanks. The biggest one is about 40 gallons. Then he has two twenty gallons as well as two twenty gallon long tanks. And finally two ten gallon tanks.
He has two fully grown axolotls one leucistic one golden albino. His third axolotl is wild type but only seven inches.

A new axolotl is always the key to a mans heart.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
