Hello all

What percentage chance can a wildtype and white axolotl produce a melanoid albino or golden albino?

It's tough to say without knowing the genotype of the axolotls you are breeding. In a cross you normally know what the parents look like but don't always know what genes they are carrying.

What do you mean with "white" Axolotl? A Leucistic?

You can't tell, as Michael said, it depends on the genetics. Could be anything between absolutely zero (none of the Axolotls or only one has a heterozygous melanoid- or albino - gene) and 25% (given a non-melanoid wildtype and a non-melanoid leucistic phenotype, but both (genetically) heterozygous for this).

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
