Axolotl full of sand and now constipated

Hey all,

I'm a new owner, I've had my axies for about a week. These were bred in a basement somewhere and lived in shallow Tupperware for months. So when I put them in my tank they both ate sand while rooting around for worms that floated away. I read this was semi normal and it should likely pass... Unfortunately both axolotls still have sand in the gut and the larger one is visibly constipated.
How long should I give them to pass the sand?
And what should my next step be should they fail?

Thanks in advance!

How big are the axolotls? It should pass hopefully but may take some time. If you haven't already, I would remove the sand at least for now.
