one of my axolotl has two front legs that are deformed.was wondering since they grow back if there was any chance of them growing back like normal legs if removed.

Are they bent backwards like that? Or is she just holding them like that?
You say your axie has a hard time swimming. How about walking?

One of my young axies had some weird toes clumped together. A tank mate ripped them off and they grew back pretty normal. Not sure if that works perfectly on adult axies. When my adult axies lose a limb it grows back kinda freaky. (Freaky like in: toes clumped together, weird shaped feet, extra toes, missing toes, toes on top of another toe, extra limb etc...)

It's possible that they would grow back normally if amputated. But if it's a genetic issue, they'll grow back similarly.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
