At what age do you start feeding axolotls once every 3 days instead of daily

Whenever their stomach starts getting bigger than their head. I always feed based on how big their stomach looks. if they're looking a little skinny I'll feed them every day or so. if they're looking a little pudgy(most the time) I'll cut down on feedings to 3 times a week

I feed my adults daily. They don't get huge worms tho and are always eager to eat.

I feed my adults every day too, just a little bit. Sometimes if i am tired or out for the night i will not feed them and do not get too upset because they will survive quite a while without feeding, and it is recomended to feed them every few days. I dont think its absolutley bececary to have a feeding schedual or anything, they are oppertunistic feeders in the wild anyway - they eat when they can get it. Wile a few off days won't hurt them neither will feeding a bit every day, its really what suits you best because your axolotl will be healthy either way. I think Carsons way of feeding is a good suggestion

thanks everyone i will keep feeding daily

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
