Because everyone needs another siren picture in their life. She has been really active since I cleaned her tank yesterday and moved one of her tubes. I hope she isn't stressed and will calm down to her normal lazy self soon. At least it has given me an oportunity to get a couple good pictures.

I want to say she was about 8 inches when I bought her. I've had her for a 2 or 3 years, and she is around 14 or 15 inches. They are great! I love how she pretends to be a stick sometimes and will hang straight out from her plant, lying in wait for food.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
