just want to share some pics of the growth spurt my 6 month old tomato has gone through. it's really starting to eat more earthworms and slugs and putting on some bulk. it's also starting to get some red coloring

background on the frog. bought online the start of january and it was only a month old and thumbnail sized. it got tangled up in the moist towel it was shipped with so it's right hind leg is small and deformed, i've named it Cherry Darling after the 1 legged stripper in Grindhouse. i've been keeping at cooler temps(70day low as 62 night) since i've read the young don't require the higher temps of adults. so far so good

the first pic is last month and the second is this month.

Cute little guy, quite a difference in a month. I was looking at a few of these frogs recently, seem like a down the road project. Good work!

just an update. i had this frog from 12/06 to 6/09... had a crazy mass die off of all my herps around that month.. the tomato, 4 WC marbleds about 3years in my care, and a WC fowler's toad about 2 years in my care.

after cleaning my tanks i acquired a pair of CB tomato babies 7/09 and a CB emperor newt. one of the tomatoes passed 8/10 and the emperor newt 3/11 ... i think everyonce in a while i get a bad batch of waxworms and now avoid them.

anyway still have 1 male tomato in my collection. they're a pretty hardy species, not the most active since they burrow but still fun. the males have a call that is like a drum roll. i can imitate it by doing a duck call with my hand and they will call back. heavy metal blast beats work too!! :supercool:
