Hello everyone! I've crept around on this forum for a bit and figured it's time to formally introduce myself. I have quite the menagerie, but amphibians come first in my heart. I've kept and bred numerous species of frogs for years with dart frogs being my bread and butter. A few years ago, I acquired my first salamander, A. mavortium. I absolutely adore him and he is easily one of my favorite animals in my collection. Since then, I've been constantly searching for more terrestrial salamanders, but have had a hard time finding any available from a reputable source. So far, the only other additions have been a pair of A. opacum. Anyways, that is what brought me here! I'm happy to be here and hope to expand my knowledge.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
