Hey guys, I woke up this morning and noticed my axie's cloaca looked bigger than normal. He hasn't pooped in about a week, which is weird for him. He has always pooped really often - about every 3-4 days, despite the fact that the temp is at 60F/16C. He primarily eats nightcrawlers, and bloodworms on occasion. I've noticed him dropping spermatophores, though he's the only one in the tank! He's 9-10 months old and his tank is bare bottom, aside from some large stones on one end that are bigger than his head. Anyways, I wanted the opinion of others on whether or not he looks abnormal.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
