Hi,

I was just wondering if anyone else has an axolotl that did not grow back one of it's limb after it was lost?

I rescued 2 axolotls from a breeder that kept all the larvae in 2 bins. When I got Dim and Sum, all they had was one stump for a front leg and a stump for a back leg. The other legs were bitten off by their brothers or sisters.
At about 11 months old, 2 are now happy and healthy, Dim regrew all his legs back but Sum is still missing his front left arm.

Anyone have a cute tripod, like me?

I have a tripod. Lefty is missing a front limb, and was that way when I got him. It is possible that it was due to a limb bud not developing to begin with, rather than failure of regenerate. He is now 10-11" long and dies not seem at all bothered by the missing limb.
