I am planning to get an axolotl soon and currently doing an intensive research on it
I am aware that it can morph to a land version when water condition/diet is not satistied
And obviously we want it to stay aquatic :p
But i came across a forum/a post saying that he/she put the morphed axolotl into water and it actually morph back to aquatic form. Is tat really possible??? I tried to look it up but no one else mentioned anything like this before.

That´s absolutely false. They can´t revert from a metamorphosed stage back to being neotenic.
Axolotls rarely morph, at least successfully. While bad conditions can in some cases trigger morphing, most animals simply die. The species in general is really not capable of metamorphosing naturally, so when it happens it usually goes wrong.

If you put a morphed axolotl into an aquatic setup, it might adapt to living in water. In that sense, it might revert to being aquatic. But there is no possible way it would revert physically. It could not regrow gills, tail fin, etc. It would still be a morphed axie.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
