Question: Red eft questions...

I have been keeping N.v.v. for years, as they are very common in places near where I live, I used to bring them home from the wild as a kid and was able to care for them with ease. (I am moreso against wildcaught now that I am older and wiser....) But I would still never claim to know everything! The people on this forum give wonderful advise. Please be respectful about your questions. I am not trying to offend you, I just like the peaceful sharing of information that goes on around here, and am respectfully asking you to help keep that peace. You've found a great group of enthusiasts here, so enjoy the wealth of information they are more than happy to share with us.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
