I'm not sure what exactly your asking looks good. If it's in regards to its health then yes, it looks quite healthy to me.

And I'm just showing them off - but can anybody tell if they're male or female? Manny (older leicustic) is a female, I think, but don't know about Sid - i think (s)he's too young to tell.

They both look too small/young to reliably sex.

That's the last one! It's a shame you don't think you can sex them, I thought Manny was big enough.

Manny only looks to be around 15cm, if that's the case then it still has quite a bit of growing to do.

How long have you had it?

Manny is about 6 months old I reckon, and about 20cm from head to tail.

That's definitely too young then. Axolotls usually don't reach sexual maturity until around one year of age at least.

I knew that, but Manny was looking pretty big so I thought it might be noticeable. I'm hoping to breed them one day so hopefully they're opposites.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
