I thought my tank had finished cycling, so I put my axie back in the tank a few days ago.

Well today I checked the parameters and the readings were not good.

Ammonia: almost 1.0 ppm
Nitrate: 20 ppm
Nitrite: almost .25 ppm
pH: 8.0

I am not aware of anything I could have done to kick off a new cycle, maybe it just wasn't finished in the first place, but if it wasn't, I don't understand why all the readings would have been at zero after being elevated.

I have removed my axie once again, much to his displeasure.

Please help me!!

Hmmm I think putting your axie back in might have affected it, your axie started producing waste thats all. I cycled my tank with my axolotl in it. It doesnt hurt as long as your are diligent with your tank maintenance and water changes.

You're probably right. I didn't think about that.

I will just do a water change to get the levels down and put the little guy back in there.
