Hi, i'm new to this forum. I own 3 axolotl about 15 cm long. I used to feed them earthworms and bloodworms twice a day. But recently 1 of them (melanoid type) stopped eating, he hide if i put wringgling worm infront of him and when i try to feed him shrimps he ran from it usually shrimps are his favorite food and will snap when i put it infront of his face. Maybe anyone can give suggestion on what should i do. And mostly his hind legs and tail floats and i guess he's struggle to keep it down

For the floating issue fridging is usually suggested. Give that a go first, then his appetite might come back. Here is the fridging guide: https://www.caudata.org/forum/showthread.php?t=85263
Give that guide a good read through first. Once he is back in the tank I imagine he may want to eat again :)

Ok illl try fridging him thank you

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
