That's right .....I said it!!!!

Fruitflies on water I am quite sure is not a new invention.

I am always looking for clever ways to feed my crew.

So as I was feeding my chameleons, I said to myself "Self....drop a fruitfly in the larvae containing shallow water and see what happens.

So no sooner than I dropped the fruitfly did one of the larva grab a fly.

This is a light bulb moment!!!!

So I added more flies to another container. They are eating them.

Now I have all 3 species eating fruitflies on water.

So the next time your larvae ask for fruitflies.....you might want to ask

Shall I put that on water or hold the ice???;)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
