Hi, can someone help me with my fire belly, im still a bit confused about how to look after him. I've had him now for nearly 2 months and i'm still not quite sure how to look after him. i've got the basics, like what to feed him and stuff, but the set up of his tank is still not right...i don't think...and also, he's developed a bad habit of not eating his food if its not alive, weird, i know. any ideas how to get him out of that habit? and whats the best thing to use for the land in his tank? please help, thanks, rose

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
