Hi. My Axolotl is having a little issue. He keeps going on to his back and side. He also keeps gapping at the surface. Can anyone tell me what is wrong with my little guy?
Make sure his temp is no higher than 68 degrees Fahrenheit and if you have lighting make sure he has a space where he can be in the dark beacuse they dont have eyelids so constant ligjt can stress them out also if your filter is strong and makes a steo g current this could also stress him out take these things into consideration and hes should be happy as long as hes fed and they also surface for air so keep that in mind
Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation
Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
