Hey everyone! Totally new here but been keeping axolotls for two years now.
My name is Emily and I'm from Worcestershire in the UK.
I have two axolotls who I've had two years now, a slightly dirty lucy and a wildtype. Flump and Groot respectively. Both females who love each other to pieces!
We did have a third water baby who we obtained from a previous owner who kept him with FISH in a fish tank on gravel. He was severely impacted and sadly we couldn't get him to pass the stones and he passed away two days ago.
Looking to expand our axolotl kingdom, if there are any breeders in the UK that will deliver to my area please message me!
Our babies are fed on earthworms and pellets, with frozen prawn as an occasional treat. Any advice on what else is great for them would be welcomed! Any advice in general is welcomed too!

I don't know any breeders in the UK but I'm pretty sure The Model Axolotl on Facebook ships out there for a decent price. I'm not 100% sure if they ship out of the U.S but you can try.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
