So I have a 55 Gallon tank and it's been set up for 8 months now. Now that it is getting warmer I need to chill my tank for my axolotls because the room the tank is in doesn't get much AC.

SO, advice for the best filter for a 55 gallon? I don't know anything about them so I don't know where to start at all.

hi, i personally have a 40 gallon and i use a small fan with a clip to cool off my tank. it keeps the water at around 64 degrees. Before i got the fan i rotated frozen water bottles throughout the day, but the fan so far is the best without spending 100s on a water chiller. it cools my tank around 15 degrees.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
