Blue light on cooling pad?

So in an effort to cool my tank down (it stays around 68) I am trying evaporation cooling. Purchased a laptop cooling pad from Amazon. The pad had three very low output blue lights. We thought the lights could be turned off, turns out not so much. :(

I know light can stress the out. But this is really low light, like I would not even use it for a child's night light. It just puts out a sort of dim blue light.

Sasha has hides and places to get away from the light when needed. But I am prepared to send this back if it's going to make life hard for her. I don't have a photo as I am typing this on a PC rather than my phone. But I just turned off all room lights and left the blue pad lights on and it was just a faint glow rather than a bright light.

here is the pad: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NNMB3KS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Thanks!

I don't think it should really be an issue as long as there are dark bits in the tank. Can you unscrew the cooling pad and remove the source of the light, if there is a bulb?
You could return it and get an aquarium fan if that's easier for you :)

Thanks. We might be able to open it up and remove the lights. To be honest the laptop cooling pads have better reviews than the tank fans in terms of durability.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
