Hello, this is my first time using this website, I thought i posted another thread before this one but it says otherwise so I apologize if this turns out to be a repeat. I've had my axie for a little over a year now and had no issues. He was in a 30 gallon tank kept at around 70°F with sand and regularly fed earthworms, the occasional cricket and a block of blood worms every now and then. Recently, he has been floating on his side. He has red markings on his legs which makes me believe that it might be Red Leg. I have him in the fridge, he's been in there for the past 4 days. I love my baby so much and want to make sure he turns out okay. So far the fridging hasn't done much that I can see

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
