Just after some info on feeding tadpoles to axies. :rofl:

I know where I can get them and I know for a fact that they are not endangered and in a pletyful supply. :D

I also would only be taking a few every now and then to add some variety to my axies diet. :artist:

What would you reccomend doing in regards to quarintine, feeding ect. :frog: :confused:
 
Personally, I would advise against it. The risk of disease/parasite transmission between amphibians is too great for my liking. There are people that do so without issue however.

If they are tadpoles you hatched yourself from eggs in captivity, I feel it is less of an issue. If they are wild caught or pet store however, I would not feel comfortable with that myself.
 
I agree with Johnny,

Also the standard quarentine period is 30 days which depending on the age of the tadpoles could be the difference between tadpoles and frogs.
 
Thanks for the advice.

I did not hatch them myself, they are from frog pond in the backyard.

I might just try and quarentine one or two to see if they posses any parasites ect. :famous:

I would actually recommend you against feeding tadpoles. The risk for disease and parasite transmission is much higher between amphibians. This link can be useful to you. Look at the last table on feeding tadpoles.

    Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

    Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
