I got 6 red cherry shrimp yesterday, and form what i''ve read, the 'saddled' shrimp, are female.

Just wanted someone to confirm that the 'saddle' is what i think it is..

the yellow/greenish thing on the shrimp in the red circle is the saddle. Yes?

It looks that way to me. Here is a thread on another forum that discusses this, with photos.
Saddled shrimp

Both shrimp are female! I've had success keeping them with my newts, they're much too fast to be caught, and they add a nice flash of color to the tanks as well as help to keep them clean. Hope mine breed soon :)

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
