I can't wait to share more photos of my rare baby as it grows. The photos are courtesy of the seller.

Well my Golden is not Mosaic. It is a Golden with vitiligo.

It is still beautiful but I can't figure out how to edit my OP.

The blown up pic of the foot is just to show it has iridophores on both sides, the seller thought it had none on that side.

It does have shorter gills on one side but they look eaten off. The stalks end in a blunt edge with the feathers trying to regrow out of the white regrowth. Naturally short stalks look like they have a pointed end. ( please tell me if I'm wrong )

Well I finally understand why this is a Mosaic and I misunderstood the seller thinking they meant it was split Melanoid on one side like a Chimera. This is not a Mosaic as in 2 eggs fusing but a new fancy name for a cool color morph.

What makes this a Mosaic is the high amount of white, but it lacks high iridophores like a normal golden with so much white.

I wish there was an option to delete threads but it looks like my newb self discussion will remain here forever to haunt me

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
