I have two tiger salamanders I need to sell. I cannot find a solid answer on the legality of shipping them to certain states. I live in Illinois, I have someone from Indiana who wants to buy them. Is it legal to ship them there? Which states would it be illegal to ship to? If anyone knows please let me know. I do not want to break any laws but I cannot find a definite answer. Thank you very much.

Assuming you mean tigrinum. If they were legally collected then you should be fine shipping anywhere except New Jersey, New York, MD, VA, CA, OR, and WA. You need to check each state's laws though - go to Indiana's state government web site and find the agency that regulates reptiles and amphibians. Then double check if it's OK.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
