I have a ibreian ribbed newt hes only a baby i think........... and i feed him small worms and hes been getting fat. So i thought i would give him a few days where i don't feed him and i gave him 2 days without feeding and hes still fat what should i do ?

Could you post a picture?

What is your tank setup like? What are you feeding? How big is your newt?

When you say fat do you mean just a bit chubby or does he looked bloated?
If he's just a bit of a porker you me be feeding too much/too frequently. The later could be a sign of sickness.
A photo and more detailed info on how your keeping him and what your feeding would certainley help.

If it isn't bloat, it may not be a problem. My newts are pretty fat themselves (particularly the females) and 2 days is definitely not enough for them to start looking skinny. It takes about a week without feeding before I notice much difference in their size, but then again I feed them twice a week so I rarely ever see that. Take a look at the pictures on caudata culture about bloat (http://www.caudata.org/cc/articles/bloatEDK.shtml) and if your newt doesn't look like that then it may not be too much of a problem, just cut back on feeding a little.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
