Problem with an African Clawed Frog..

Hey everyone,

I was told to come check this site out in hopes to get an answer to help
a sick african clawed frog "albino"

I have had two of them now for some time...2 1/2 years I think........
But anyways, I’ve noticed that one of them was getting skinny a alittle while back,
he is about half the size "body weight" as the other one is now,
he still eats and appears to act pretty normally....
"update on this, he wanted to eat a night crawler last night, but after a few minutes
it let go of it and did not attemp to go after it again, even when trying to coaks it into
going for it"
"These were the first ones of the year now that they are coming out of the ground"

The are housed in a 20L that runs at room temps,
they was in a stand 20 for about 2 months, and it had MTS snails in it,
but they never bothered trying to eat them, or so i never seen it anywasy.

Anyway, this frog keeps getting skinnier to the point it's just sad looking,
Anybody have any idea’s or thoughts on what the problem could be or is
or how to treat it,

The frog web site that I use for information does not say anything in the
treating Disease section for this type of an issue....
And I can't find anything on the net about this....

Any ideas to try or suggestions won't be of any use,
I went up to my room tonight to check on the frog and feed the fish,
and He was gone, He did try to eat though,
He did have a worm half way out of his mouth,
so my thery, the worm was
dead or near dead and it didn't have to do much to eat it and was weak enough
that it couldn't do the job and drown?
After I pulled it from the tank i did pull the worm out and could see in it's mouth
and the partialy the throat and it didn't look abnormal to me,
so I'm still at a lose as what
was going on with it....

I did forget, one of the two had a tumor on the under side of the chin last year,
It had it for a good spell, then i happen to be looking at um one day and noticed it
had shrunk by a bout 1/2, and it went away..
Not sure if this one was the one that had it or not,
i'd have to look at them to see what one has the mark from it,
but I do not think it was the one that died..

I was told by a guy I know that it more then likely had a parisite(s)
To bad I didn't find any info about this n could of saved it
But, Blind treating is worse then doing nothing I guess.

Going to town today to visit with a Club Buddy, and a LFS that has ACFs
is along the way so I may get another one....
If I do it will be a the standard color and not an Albino one this time

I've got the same with an ADCF some years ago and there some more cases at the Pipidae Forum. IMO it could be a tumor are a problem with the stomach or others.

My one frog did have what looked to be a tumar on the left underside of the chin,
Since you can't do anything for it, I just let nature takes it course, and after a long while,
i looked one day and it was tons smaller, then just was gone with a little spot where it was like a scare. But it never lost it's hunger for night clawers the whole time.

I never did find anything on the net about this skinny case though, but I have read that
the clearer you keep the water in ACF tanks the more able that are and can heal themselfs..
