Hello,

I'm new to the forum and just curious if anybody can tell me where i can purchase Salamanders online that will ship to Canada. One that really interests me is the Tiger Salamander.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, welcome to the forum. :)
Although we do permit captive bred animals to be bought/sold in the trade area, the site is primarily for education and conservation. Captive bred Tiger sals are sometimes available on here, but 99.9% of the ones offered for sale by pet/reptile stores are taken from the wild,so personally, I'd do some reading and research and go for a species that are captive bred. Fire salamanders are similar to to Tigers in a lot of ways and are often available as adorable little juveniles that are lots of fun to raise.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
