Hi guys,

I have 2 adult axolotl’s who need a new home, i’m going away travelling for a while after a relationship breakup. Claude and Tony are the unfortunate casualties but I would like them to go to a good home now.

They are about 6-7 years old and have always lived with each other, they both eat bloodworms, sometimes snap at each other at feeding time but no other issues that I’m aware of. Unfortunately I’m not an expert though so it would be good for them to go to someone who has the time to look after them.

I’m based in Colchester, Essex and am willing to give them away for free if you have the right setup back home and everything that’s needed to allow you to pick them up.

I also have about 3 packets of bloodworm which i’ll sell for £5

I’ve attached a couple of photos.

with axolotls would I basically have to keep buying and buying new axolotls to prevent inbred breeding which costs a lot of money??

Not necessarily but if you’re wanting to continue to grow your breeding capacity then yes. Breeding axolotls isn’t a cheap hobby nor is it a get rich quick scheme. It costs a lot of money and time and deditcation

Would Chinese fire belly newts be more or less inclined towards an aquatic eft set up versus Japanese . I'm raising them and have abandoned the terrarium at about 5 months old and switched to the aquatic setups you describe. I'm wondering if I could do this as soon as they morph?
